OwnAFilmCompany.com was set up to help people get their first break in the Film Industry. Members own the company and vote on the film. Because the film productions are funded by the membership fee, we are under less commercial pressures than most film companies and can make films that may not be made otherwise.
Currently registration is free, but we will ask people to pay eventually. Paid Membership will costs £30 (plus VAT) a year and is limited to 100,000 people. £5 from each membership fee will pay for admin and the website, the other £25 will go to the film production fund.
With 100,000 paid up members, we will have £2.5m to make a low budget feature film with. Members get to submit their script first, and there will be a limited number of unpaid positions, working on the production, that only members can apply for. If a soundtrack is required, members music will be considered first.
All paid members will get to vote on the script that is made into a film, the main actors and crew, as well as the soundtrack, if applicable.
