Reuters reports that Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It movie‘ has now surpassed $200 million dollars at box offices around the world in its first two weeks of release.

Globally it’s now the 22^nd biggest grossing movie of 2009. Originally due to run for just two weeks, the movie has been extended til early December.

Sony paid concert promoters AEG and Jackson’s estate about $60 million for the right to make and distribute the movie which is compiled from footage of Jackson rehearsing for his comeback concerts before his sudden death in June.

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has denied he was smoking cannabis at a party, reports Reuters.

Allegations first appeared in a British tabloid but a spokeswoman for Radcliff has categorically denied the allegations although did concur that he would smoke the occasional roll-up.

“Dirty Dancing” star and movie legend Patrick Swayze has died at the age of 57, following a long-running battle with pancreatic cancer. He died in his home on Monday night with his family by his side.

Swayze is best known for starring in the 1987 film “Dirty Dancing” which went on to become one of the most-watched Hollywood movies of all time. He also starred alongside Demi Moore in the 1990 film “Ghost“.

He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer at the start of last year but vowed to fight the disease, surprising Hollywood by taking the lead role in a TV series which was broadcast earlier this year. He is survived by his wife Lisa Niemi and his brother Don.

In this indie comedy(15) Amy Adams and Emily Blunt are two ladies who clean up bloody crime scenes!! – trying to put a positive spin on such work and more interesting sub-plots. Director Christine Jeffs did a great job with this film.

A heavy social plot about a child with leukemia based on novel by Jodi Piccoult, is a moving tale. Take handkerchief to cinema.

Reports from Rome on Reuters say that it looks like Michael Moore’s Oscar-winning film ‘Capitalism: A Love Story‘ could well come away as overall winner at the Venice Film Festival.

Six US films have been nominated at the world’s oldest film festival – a sure sign that the writers strike did nothing to prevent the return of the US film-business.

This year there will be 24 film in the contest – one of which is yet to be unveiled – and both France and Italy will be featuring heavily this year. Both countries have four films each representing them.

The event starts on Sept 2nd and runs until Sept 12th.

Director Jon Favreau has announced that filming has wrapped for ‘Iron Man 2‘ featuring Scarlett Johansson and Robert Dowey Jr, reports MTV UK.

Film bosses have released pictures from the movie to celebrate the milestone.

The movie is the second in the franchise and also features Gwyneth Paltrow, Mickey Rourke, Samuel L Jackson and Sam Rockwell.

Now that filming has concluded, the movie has gone into pre-production ahead of its release in Spring 2010.

For most inexperienced actors, the first time audition can be an exciting yet daunting experience. Most auditions are over before you know it. There are a variety of standard places where you can begin your search for auditions and shows that are being cast in your area. The local theater is one place you might start to locate auditions. The only complication with local theater auditions is they often cast a complete season of shows all in a few days of auditions. Build up your acting resume with as much experience as you can.

You can also find more local auditions in schools. This is actually a great resource for people start out. Usually, you have to be attending school to audition for the part. They’ll be more likely to be fairly stern about that. It may be tricky to search for auditions in smaller towns. Even so, there are many independent film and TV productions that will host auditions throughout all the state in the US. The only issue lies in finding these auditions. If you really want to kick-start your acting career than you’ll have to understand looking for auditions is how you start. It won’t matter where you live. Open Auditions are a way for an audition panel to pool a lot of people to attend their casting call. Unlike like planned Acting Auditions, open casting calls usually will not have prior screening. Open Auditions will most likely bring in a large quantity of talent hopefuls. It’s first come first serve basis.
