After last years hugely successful festival with some excellent entries and appearances from Asif Kapadia, Allan Niblo, Dean Craig and Chris Jones we are proud to announce that The 2009 Super Shorts International Film Festival is now officially accepting submissions!

SHORT FILM COMPETITION

The Short Film Competition is the centre piece of the Super Shorts festival. Shortlisted films are screened at the Odeon Covent Garden. All films under 30 minutes are eligible, including live action, documentary and animation.

The shortlisted films are viewed by the Festival Jury and winners are picked for the following awards;

The winner of each category is awarded a trophy and industry prizes related to the award. For example, the editing award is supported by Avid who are offering software worth £1,000’s. The ‘Best Short Film’ award includes a cash prize of £1,000 ($2,000).

SHORT FILM SCRIPT COMPETITION

The scripts will be shortlisted by a script professional and the top ten scripts will be shown to our Festival Jury. Our Festival Jury will be made up of industry professionals and recognisable industry names.

MUSIC VIDEO COMPETITION

Our aim is to find innovative, original music videos from around the world. The winning film will be awarded the ‘Best Music Video’ award along with yet to be announced prizes.

This year, only five English language movies – all listed as US productions – will vie for the top prize at the world’s oldest film festival.
